In reply to Dave | Jones Around The World. There's definitely a lot to see in Brussels beyond the top sites. It's worth taking some time to explore the lesser-know neighbourhoods and if you can do it with a passionate local guide, all the better!

I’m actually heading back to Brussels this summer, and can’t wait to explore the city a bit more. I’ve been a few times already ,but they were always really quick visit, and I’ve felt I missed out on a lot. Some of these tours looks awesome!

As a transplant to Carcassonne for the past 13 years, I can say you did a good job of explaining the highlights. Carcassonne is a great base for exploring the south of France. There are caves, more castles, picturesque villages, wonderful markets. Plus, it’s less expensive than Provence and Paris, and without the crowds. You can enjoy fine dining and wine without breaking the budget.

We are visiting in early May. Several friends have said there is not much to do in Brussels – your site seems to prove them wrong. This list of tours is very helpful and I will check out your other posts.
